S-216-J & JB Standard Pumps

Lubricated air-driven pumps in multiple ratios for general industrial liquid-pressure applications.

02

JN & JBN Non-Lubricated Pumps

Non-lubricated air-drive configurations for facilities that do not want oil introduced into the exhaust.

03

JS & JBS Separated Pumps

Separated non-contaminating designs that isolate the pumped liquid from the air-drive section.

04

JD Double-Acting Pumps

Double-acting pump designs for applications requiring powered liquid movement through the cycle.

05

S-218 Double-Ended Pumps

Double-ended arrangements for increased output and specialized high-pressure liquid service.

PowerStar 4 & SM-3 Pumps

Compact pump options for lower-flow, portable or space-constrained installations.

Application & Selection Details

Information Needed to Select a Sprague Liquid Pump

Pump ratio establishes potential pressure multiplication, but fluid compatibility, flow, suction conditions, duty cycle and drive-air supply must also be reviewed.

  • Liquid name and concentration
  • Liquid temperature and viscosity
  • Source or inlet pressure
  • Required outlet pressure
  • Required flow or fill time
  • Available drive-air pressure and volume
  • Continuous, intermittent or static duty
  • Lubricated or non-lubricated drive
  • Standard or separated design
  • Wetted-material and seal requirements

Product Information

Before Ordering

How is outlet pressure estimated?

Potential outlet pressure is related to pump ratio and available drive-air pressure. Actual selection must remain within model limits and account for flow and system losses.

What is a separated non-contaminating pump?

It separates the air-drive section from the liquid section to reduce the risk of drive contamination entering the pumped liquid.

What do J, JN and JS generally indicate?

J is commonly a standard lubricated arrangement, JN a non-lubricated air-drive arrangement, and JS a separated non-contaminating configuration. Confirm the full model code.

What should I provide for a replacement?

Send the complete model and part number, data-plate photo, liquid, source pressure, outlet pressure, drive-air conditions and quantity.
