Information Needed to Select a BVA Pump
Pump selection depends on the cylinder or tool, required oil volume, operating speed, control method and available power source.
- Single-acting or double-acting circuit
- Required operating pressure
- Cylinder or tool oil capacity
- Desired advance and return speed
- Manual, air, electric or engine power
- Valve type and control method

Before Ordering
How do I choose between a single-acting and double-acting pump?
Match the pump valve and circuit to the cylinder or tool. A single-acting cylinder normally requires pressure for advance and spring or load return, while a double-acting cylinder requires hydraulic pressure in both directions.
What information should I provide for an electric pump quote?
Include the required voltage and frequency, reservoir size, valve type, control method, cylinder or tool model, operating pressure and any roll-cage, heat-exchanger or gauge requirements.
Can one pump operate several hydraulic tools?
Some pump and manifold configurations can operate multiple tools, but the required flow, controls and simultaneous-use requirements must be reviewed.
What should I do when the pump model is unknown?
Send photos of the pump and data plate, the connected cylinder or tool model, power requirements, valve function and a description of the application.
