Single stage or two stage?
Single stage compresses air once, typically to 125–135 PSI. It fits intermittent use - nailers, tires, blow-off, light service.
Two stage compresses twice, reaching 175 PSI with a higher duty cycle. Specify two stage for continuous shop air, impact tools, sandblasting and production work.
How do I size CFM and tank?
Add the CFM of every tool that runs at the same time, then add roughly 30% headroom. Match the tank to how bursty the demand is - short heavy bursts want a bigger tank, continuous demand wants more CFM.
- 3–8 gallon – trim, tires, service truck
- 20–30 gallon – general shop, impact tools
- 60–120 gallon – production, blasting, multi-station shops
Gas or electric?
Gas units run anywhere and suit service trucks and remote sites. Electric units run quiet and clean indoors - confirm voltage and phase (115V, 230V single-phase, 230/460V three-phase) before ordering, since electric models are wound for a specific supply.
What is a base-mount compressor?
Base mount ships as the pump, motor or engine and controls on a mounting base with no tank. It is used when the compressor is being built into a service truck, a trailer or an existing air receiver.
What do you need from me to quote a machine?
Send the model number if you have one. If you do not, tell us the application, the surface or material, whether you need hot or cold water, the power source available (gas, diesel, single-phase, three-phase), and the delivery destination.
