Cutting, coring and grinding concrete releases respirable crystalline silica. OSHA's silica standard for construction (29 CFR 1926.1153) requires engineered controls on these tasks, and a shroud plus a correctly sized vacuum is the usual compliant answer.

It also keeps the site clean and the tooling cutting.

Match the vacuum's airflow to the shroud, and the shroud to the tool. An undersized vacuum will not hold capture at the cut no matter how good the shroud is.

For silica work, yes. The dust that matters is the fraction fine enough to reach the lungs, and that is exactly what a standard filter passes.

Specify HEPA filtration and a filter-cleaning mechanism, because a loaded filter loses airflow and capture with it.

Only if it is rated for it. Pulling slurry through a dry dust extractor will ruin the filter.

Bit Bandit and Blade Bandit rings are designed to collect wet slurry at the cut; pair them with a wet-rated vacuum or a slurry pump.
