Diamond Products Coring Bits
Diamond Products Coring Bits
Core Bore wet and dry core bits for concrete, reinforced slab, block, stone and precast - segmented, turbo, thinwall and carbide, in every standard diameter and thread.
What this collection covers
Diamond Products Core Bore bits, grouped by bond and construction.
- Wet segmented – the general purpose bit for cured concrete and reinforced slab.
- Wet turbo and professional – faster cutting bits for production drilling.
- Large diameter – heavy barrels for big openings.
- Dry bits – block, brick and soft masonry where water is not available.
- Thinwall and precast – thin kerf bits for precast plant and fast, low-load drilling.
- Carbide – rebar and plate cutters.
What thread or connection do I need?
The bit has to match the drill motor spindle. The common connections are 1-1/4-7 male or female, 5/8-11, and A-flange or B-flange on large diameter barrels.
Read the connection off the spindle or the current bit before ordering. Adapters are available where the two do not match - see coring adapters.
How do I size the bit?
Core bits are sized by the hole they produce, not by the pipe they will carry. A 4 in. bit cuts a 4 in. hole.
Confirm the usable drilling depth too - standard barrels run about 14 in. and longer barrels or extensions are needed past that.
Wet or dry coring?
Wet is the norm on concrete. Water cools the segments, flushes the slurry and roughly doubles bit life.
Dry bits are for block, brick and soft masonry, and are run with a vacuum for dust control. Drilling cured concrete dry will burn a bit quickly.
The bit stopped cutting - what is wrong?
Almost always a glazed segment from too hard a bond, too much water, or not enough feed pressure.
Dress the bit in an abrasive block to re-expose the diamond, cut the water back to a clear-but-steady flow, and let the rig feed at a rate that keeps the motor loaded. If it glazes again, the bond is wrong for the slab.
Will a standard bit cut through rebar?
Wet segmented bits will cut light rebar. Heavy or continuous rebar needs a bit specified for reinforced concrete, and it will drill slower.
Tell us the rebar size and spacing and we will match the bond.
Can a bit be re-tipped?
Large diameter barrels are often worth re-tipping once the segments are spent, provided the tube is straight and the connection is sound. Small diameter bits are usually replaced.
Ask us and we will tell you which way the numbers fall on your bit.
What do you need from me to quote?
The part number or catalog number if you have it. If you do not, tell us the material being cut or ground, the machine it runs on, the size and arbor or thread, the quantity, and where it ships.
On equipment, add the power available - gas, hydraulic, 115V, 230V or three-phase - because most models are built in more than one configuration.
